Stepping Over the Line

RunClub last night.  I did the warm-up in my sprints .   My legs were still fatigued from Monday’s run and probably a little from Wednesday’s PT session even though we did very little leg work in PT.  The soreness in my legs meant that when running in the sprints I landed awkwardly on my left [...]

Today’s PT session was mainly upper body weights which is good as I have a wee bit of DOMS from Monday’s run.  Not too much but considering I walked most of the 21km I’m sorer than I expected to be.
Debating whether to run some of Megalong Mega this Saturday.  Whadya reckon?  Any thoughts/comments???

Lost and Found

Friday was scheduled for a swim but I had a rest day to help my legs recover from RunClub .  Walked to the beach and had a little paddle that evening.
Saturday I watched a club triathlon.  The swim legs still looks daunting to me.
Sunday walked to Leichhardt pool in the morning and swam about 600m then walked [...]

RunClub 09

Well!  Some 17 months after injuring my foot at Willy2Billy o7, I’m finally back at RunClub again and by golly it felt good…in a hurty, breathless kinda way.
We started the session with a rolling warm-up.  We ran in two groups (fast and not-so-fast) in a line and the back person ran to the front – [...]

Special Attention

Caro was sick this morning so that meant I had TA all to myself.
Session involved running (run-throughs and firm efforts) and body weight exercises as well as some plyometric exercises.
My legs felt like lead weights, I had no energy and I felt breathless doing crunches.  Clearly I’m a bit fatigued from Monday’s spin.  All in [...]

This Mess We’re In

Listening to PJ Harvey while I ran this morning (hence the post title) however, I chose this title for another reason…
Alarm goes of at 5:30am and I get up and ready for personal training with TA and Caro.  I put the money to pay TA, plus the money I forgot to pay her last week, [...]

Today was supposed to be a rest day but I really like the 1hr spin class on Monday night and the instructor is great too so I went.
My legs were clearly still fatigued from the run on Sunday as I wasn’t able to do every track with the level of resistance she suggested but it [...]

Back in the Pool

For the first time in aaages I actually swam in the pool today.  I swallowed to much air and water and now have a gut ache
But… I did swim 8 x 50m warm up, reducing the recovery time between each lap till I felt I could push to 100m reps.  Believe it or not, [...]

Running Against the Wind

Friday was a rest day.  It was also the day I went for a medical so I can do a dive course.  I passed the medical with flying colours…well…I passed the medical so I’m now one step closer to being a scuba diver.
Today (Saturday) I ran for 3 x 30mins in a howling southerly in [...]

Snot Rocket

Big session with Sue yesterday and loved it.  It was tough with lots of bridges and leg work and finished off (literally) with some sprints.
This morning I did spin with Egyptian Sam (leeeehhhtle fahhhhstor) and it was a tough class as usual.  Every track was like a sprint except for the inevitable drum track which [...]
